Handles for OpenUp System movable external blinds
OpenUp System's moving external blind brackets are the highest modular mechanism on the market for the construction of adjustable external blinds in wood and aluminium - 58.2 cm high and 6 slots per module.
The system allows you to create movable decking boards in pergolas, gazebos, balconies and commercial developments.
It allows the smooth movement of wooden boards or aluminium lamellas without the use of an electric drive. It is a manual, durable and predictable installation solution - particularly appreciated by contractors.
What is the mechanism for moving boards?
The mechanism for moving boards is a set of two brackets (left + right), which enable the construction of adjustable external blinds in wood or aluminium.
Movable arms with slots for boards or slats are embedded in the brackets. The rotation of the handles allows the angle of all the lamellas in a module to be changed at the same time.
The system works manually - no electricity, no cables, no springs.
Key parameters of the OpenUp System mechanism
- height of one module: 58.2 cm
- number of sockets: 6
- material: polypropylene reinforced with fibreglass
- installation: vertical or horizontal
- possibility to combine modules into a higher wall
The OpenUp System provides the largest coverage area among plastic systems, with one module covering as much as 58.2 cm in height.
Further modules are mounted one above the other to form a full louvre wall.

Why do installation companies choose OpenUp System?
The module height of 58.2 cm has a direct bearing on pricing and working time.
With a wall height of 220-250 cm, this means:
- fewer connections between modules,
- fewer attachment points to the structure,
- fewer elements to level,
- shorter installation time on site,
- less risk of backlash and subsequent complaints.
The higher the build, the more pronounced the difference in the number of modules needed - a real saving in man hours and material.
The handles are designed and manufactured in Poland. This means continuity of supply, dimensional repeatability and the ability to carry out major projects without the risk of stock shortages.
What does the set of movable brackets for external blinds for the terrace contain?
- pair of handles (left + right),
- clips to connect the modules,
- assembly instructions.
Handle dimensions: 9.8 × 2 × 58.2 cm
Material: Refined polypropylene (with added glass fibre)
What materials do the handles work with?
The handles are structurally matched to:
- wooden boards with a cross-section of 9.8 × 2 cm (max. length 110 cm),
- aluminium fins with a cross section of 9.9 × 1.95 cm
- up to 200 cm when mounted horizontally,
- up to 250 cm when vertically mounted.
The precise dimensional fit eliminates the „teething” effect and ensures even operation of the entire wall.

The material was selected for outdoor work - resistance to UV, moisture and temperature changes.
The mechanism requires no maintenance or seasonal adjustment.
Use of brackets for external blinds
The system works well in:
- the development of terraces,
- wall-mounted and free-standing pergolas,
- balconies,
- arbours,
- sheds,
- commercial buildings (restaurants, hotels).
Installation and extension of the system for external blinds
Handles can:
- mounted vertically or horizontally,
- join with clips to form higher modules,
- cut to size (metal saw),
- divide the sections so that they work independently.
The system is modular - the body can be expanded at any time.

What is the difference between the plastic of the OpenUp System handles and those made of HDPE?
OpenUp System handles are made of glass-fibre-refined polypropylene.
In practice, this means:
- greater rigidity of the component,
- less susceptibility to deformation with long fins,
- more stable operation of the entire module.
HDPE is a more flexible material, which means it can work less precisely at wider widths.

Are openup system handles more durable than hdpe systems?
Yes - the structure has been designed for the loads resulting from long planks and fins.
Thanks:
- glass fibre additives,
- compact material structure,
- element thickness,
The handles maintain their geometry even with intensive use and large installation areas.
How many OpenUp System route louvre brackets do I need for a 1m development?
It depends on the height of the development.
One module is 58.2 cm high, so:
- 200 cm → 4 modules,
- 240 cm → 4-5 modules,
- 300 cm → 5-6 modules.

Why do we boast handles at a height of 58.2 cm?
The longer the handles, the greater the built-in coverage. And this translates into:
- fewer joints,
- faster installation,
- a lower price per 10 cm/1 m of development (we are really competitive in the market!).
Particularly with larger projects, the difference in the number of modules is very clear to the wallet.
Do the OpenUp System patio blind brackets work without electricity?
Yes. The mechanism is fully manual.
It doesn't:
- engines,
- lines,
- springs.
The angle of the fins is changed by turning the handles.
Can I combine modules into higher sections?
Yes. The modules are pinned together to form one wall.
You can:
- build full buildings,
- divide sections into independent fields,
- expand the system over time.
Which boards do the handles work with?
The system is tailored to specific sections:
- wooden boards: 9.8 × 2 cm
- aluminium laths: 9.9 × 1.95 cm
Other dimensions may result:
- uneven working,
- the „teeth” effect,
- lack of traffic flow.
Can I use ordinary boards from the market?
You can, but the effect will not be the same. Instead of a smooth wall you will have a „Christmas tree” effect”
The system was designed for specific cross sections - it is worth sticking to them.
Are the brackets suitable for vertical and horizontal mounting?
Yes.
You can assemble them:
- vertically (usually in high buildings),
- horizontally (e.g. with wide bays).
Does the system require maintenance?
No.
Material:
- does not absorb moisture,
- does not require painting,
- does not require seasonal adjustment.
Where are the OpenUp system handles manufactured?
All production takes place in Poland.
This means:
- quality control at every stage,
- dimensional repeatability,
- no risk of supply interruptions.
This is not importing or repackaging a finished product.
Is the product tested?
Yes.
The grips were tested at the Centre for Advanced Technologies of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.
The research included, among other things, resistance to:
- UV,
- moisture,
- temperature changes.
What handle colours are available?
There are seven colours to choose from:
- RAL 9005 - black
- RAL 7016 - anthracite
- RAL 9006 - light grey
- RAL 9003 - white
- RAL 8016 - brown
- RAL 8024 - light brown
- RAL 8017 - dark brown
This is the largest choice on the market among plastic handles.

Are handles suitable for large-scale implementations?
Yes.
The system is used in:
- terrace buildings,
- pergolas,
- commercial premises (restaurants, hotels).
Thanks to the large module, it scales well for larger investments.
Can I buy components in the future?
Yes.
Production in Poland means:
- constant availability,
- the possibility of expanding the system after time,
- no problems with fitting subsequent modules.
Can patio blind brackets be cheap?
They can - it's just worth checking exactly what you're comparing.
The price of moving board holders depends on a few specific things:
- the height of one module (i.e. how much you realistically cover with one piece),
- the number of handles needed for the entire development,
- the stiffness of the material and its work with longer fins,
- accuracy of manufacture and dimensional repeatability.
Therefore, a fair comparison looks like this:
- length to length (e.g. 58.2 cm vs. lower modules),
- number of handles to the number of handles needed for the entire wall,
- material parameters, not the name of the material itself.
A lower price for a single item often means:
- more modules to be fitted,
- more work,
- more points of potential backlash.
In practice, „cheap” makes sense when the system runs stably for years and does not need patching - not just when the cost per unit is lower at launch.
The fewer modules and joints, the less work and the lower the risk of errors - and this makes a real difference to the cost of the whole project.

very nice product, we were pleasantly surprised as it was a last resort for our windy terrace. My husband and I installed 16 pairs on one terrace wall in less than 1.5h. in the package there is an instruction and a link to a video but we didn't even need to use that. I recommend 100%
