Movable partition Featuring wooden slats, the OpenUp System is a ready-to-install louvre panel designed to be fitted as a side screen for a balcony, terrace, pergola or gazebo. The product consists of a wooden frame and movable slats which, once installed, allow you to adjust the amount of light, airflow and level of privacy.

We supply the wall as a complete kit ready for installation in an external structure. One package contains the frame with the OpenUp System brackets fitted, whilst the other contains the made-to-measure wooden slats.

A movable partition instead of a fixed one

A movable screen is ideal where you need some cover but don’t want to enclose the space with a solid wall. You can adjust the slats to your preferred angle, depending on the weather, the amount of sunlight and how much privacy you want.

Adjusting the boards allows you to:

OpenUp System movable boards

The wall features movable slats from the OpenUp System. The mechanism allows the angle of the slats to be adjusted, enabling the panel to function like a wooden patio blind.

You can open the slats wider when you want to let in light and air, or close them slightly when you need more protection from the sun, the wind or prying neighbours.

The set angle remains stable when the frame is fitted correctly, and the entire structure performs predictably in everyday use.

BSH timber frame, 60 × 80 mm

The frame of the movable wall is made of BSH laminated timber with a cross-section of 60 × 80 mm.* This is a structural material used in components exposed to loads and changing external conditions.

Such a solution:

• maintains correct frame geometry,
• reduces twisting and warping of the wood,
• ensures the smooth operation of the moving slats,
• allows permanent installation in the supporting structure.

The frame is not merely a decorative element. It is the load-bearing part of the entire sliding wall, which is why ensuring it is correctly levelled and securely fixed is crucial to the proper functioning of the panels.

Where would a wooden sliding partition be suitable?

Delivery of a partition wall with wooden slats

You can collect the partition wall you have ordered directly from our offices or arrange for it to be delivered by courier.

We dispatch the product in two parcels:

• One of them contains a ready-made wooden frame with the following fitted OpenUp System handles,
• The second one contains made-to-measure wooden slats.

This solution makes it easier to transport the product and prepare it for assembly.

Installing a partition wall — what do you need to know?

The panel must be levelled and securely fixed to the supporting structure — at the sides, bottom and top. Correctly fitting the frame ensures that the moving slats operate smoothly.

Secure the frame to the supporting structure using wall plugs, screws or other fixing elements suitable for the type of surface.

If, after assembly, the footrests are difficult to adjust, check the frame geometry and how it is secured. If necessary, you can adjust the frame’s position and re-fit the footrests into their brackets.

A sliding partition versus a self-assembly kit

The movable partition in a BSH timber frame is a ready-made fitted panel. Compared with a system made up of individual components:

Correct measurement before ordering

The frame of the sliding partition is a rigid component, so please measure the installation site carefully before placing your order. Take measurements at three points: at the bottom, in the middle and at the top.

When placing your order, please specify the narrowest dimension. This will prevent the finished frame from not fitting into the space you have prepared.

*The manufacturer allows a dimensional tolerance of up to ±3 mm in the frame section.
