Are external blinds and façade blinds the same thing?

No. Façade blinds are mainly installed on windows and large glazed areas of buildings. Their function is to limit the heating of the interiors and control the light entering the rooms. External patio blinds, on the other hand, are used to cover the side walls of terraces, balconies, pergolas and arbours. They help to increase privacy and comfort of use of the space around the house.

Do external blinds protect against rain?

External blinds help to reduce the effect of light rain and wind, but are not a completely airtight enclosure. Their main function is to regulate light, ventilation and the level of shading of the space.

Do external blinds provide privacy?

Yes. External blinds are effective in reducing visibility from the outside and help to create a more private space on the terrace, balcony or by the pergola. In movable systems, you can additionally adjust the positioning of the slats according to your needs.

External wooden or aluminium blinds - which to choose?

Wood blinds give a more natural effect and blend well with the garden and wooden pergola. Aluminium is more resistant to changing weather conditions and does not require regular impregnation. Woodgrain aluminium slats are also often used in modern developments.

Can external blinds be installed on a balcony?

Yes. External blinds work very well as balcony enclosures. They help to shield the space from the sun, improve privacy and reduce visibility from neighbours.

Will external blinds work well with a pergola?

Yes. External louvres are often used as a side development of terrace pergolas. They help to increase the comfort of the terrace, reduce heat build-up in the space and improve wind protection.

Is it better to choose movable or fixed blinds?

Movable external blinds allow you to regulate the amount of light and ventilation and vary the degree to which the space is covered. Fixed louvres are simpler in terms of construction and are suitable for areas where you wish to have a permanent structure and to maintain ventilation.

Where can external blinds be used?

Do external blinds reduce heat build-up on the terrace?

Yes. External blinds help to reduce the amount of sunlight reaching the terrace or balcony. This makes the space less heated and more comfortable during hot weather.

Do external blinds require maintenance?

It depends on the material. Wood blinds require regular impregnation and protection against moisture and UV radiation. Aluminium is easier to maintain and more weather-resistant.

Can external blinds be mounted vertically and horizontally?

Yes. Depending on the construction and type of development, external blinds can be mounted either vertically or horizontally. The choice of installation method depends, among other things, on the width of the development, the height of the construction and the desired visual effect.

Is it possible to order made-to-measure external blinds?

Yes. Depending on the solution you choose, you can order kits for self-assembly or ready-made frames with infill to fit the dimensions of your terrace, balcony or pergola.

What is the difference between the plastic of the OpenUp System handles and those made of HDPE?

OpenUp System handles are made of polypropylene refined with the addition of glass fibre. In practice, this means: greater rigidity of the component, less susceptibility to deformation with long fins, more stable operation of the entire module. Are openup system handles more durable than hdpe systems?

Yes - the structure has been designed for the loads resulting from the work of the long boards and fins. Thanks: glass fibre additives, the compact structure of the material, the thickness of the elements, handles retain their geometry even with intensive use and large installation areas.

How many OpenUp System route louvre brackets do I need for a 1m development?

It depends on the building height. One module is 58.2 cm high, so: 200 cm → 4 modules, 240 cm → 4-5 modules, 300 cm → 5-6 modules.

Why do we boast handles at a height of 58.2 cm?

The longer the handles, the greater the built-in coverage. And this translates into: fewer joints, quicker installation, a lower price per 10 cm/1 m of fitting (we are really competitive in the market!). Especially for larger projects, the difference in the number of modules is very noticeable for the wallet.

Do the OpenUp System patio blind brackets work without electricity?

Yes. The mechanism is fully manual. It doesn't: motors, cables, springs. The angle of the fins is changed by turning the handles.

Can I combine modules into higher sections?

Yes. The modules are joined together with clips to form one wall. You can: build full builds, divide sections into independent fields, expand the system over time.

Which boards do the handles work with?

The system is tailored to specific sections: wooden planks: 9.8 × 2 cm aluminium laths: 9.9 × 1.95 cm Other dimensions may result: uneven operation, a „teething” effect, lack of fluidity of movement.

Can I use ordinary boards from the market?

You can, but the effect will not be the same. Instead of a smooth wall, you will have a „Christmas tree” effect. The system was designed for specific cross sections - it's worth sticking to them.

Are the brackets suitable for vertical and horizontal mounting?

Yes. You can mount them: vertically (usually for high buildings), horizontally (e.g. for wide bays).

Does the system require maintenance?

No. Material: does not absorb moisture, does not require painting, does not require seasonal adjustment.

Where are the OpenUp system handles manufactured?

All production takes place in Poland. This means: quality control at every stage, dimensional repeatability, no risk of supply interruptions. This is not importing or repackaging the finished product.

Is the product tested?

Yes. The grips were tested at the Centre for Advanced Technologies of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The tests included resistance to: UV, moisture, temperature changes.

What handle colours are available?

There are seven colours to choose from: RAL 9005 - black RAL 7016 - anthracite RAL 9006 - light grey RAL 9003 - white RAL 8016 - brown RAL 8024 - light brown RAL 8017 - dark brown This is the largest selection on the market of plastic handles.

Are handles suitable for large-scale implementations?

Yes. The system is used in: terrace buildings, pergolas, commercial buildings (restaurants, hotels). Thanks to its large module, it scales well for larger investments.

Can I buy components in the future?

Yes. Production in Poland means: constant availability, possibility of expanding the system after time, no problems with adapting further modules.

Can patio blind brackets be cheap?

They can - it's just worth checking exactly what you're comparing. The price of moving board holders depends on a few specific things: the height of one module (i.e. how much you realistically cover with one piece), the number of handles you need for the entire build, the stiffness of the material and how it works with longer boards, the accuracy of manufacture and repeatability of dimensions. Therefore, a fair comparison looks like this: length to length (e.g. 58.2 cm vs. lower modules), number of handles to the number of handles needed for the entire wall, material parameters, not the name of the material itself. A lower price for a single element often means: more modules to install, more work, more points of potential play. In practice, „cheap” makes sense when the system works stably for years and does not need to be corrected - not just when the cost per unit is lower at the start.
