Frequently asked questions
What does OUS stand for?
OUS is the abbreviation for OpenUpSystem - a mechanism for external blinds for the construction of terraces, balconies, gazebos and sheds. The mechanism for blinds consists of a set of OUS brackets (left+right). Each bracket is equipped with 6 movable sockets for boards/lamellas.
What colours are available for the handles of external moving blinds?
We have six colours for the movable handles: black (RAL 9005), anthracite (RAL 7016), white (RAL 9003), brown (RAL 8016), light brown (RAL 8024), dark brown (RAL 8017)
What are the OUS brackets for mounting external/terrace blinds made of?
OUS handles are made of plastic for outdoor use.
Can OUS handles be combined with each other?
Of course. By combining them together, you will gain a taller build.
Are there clips included to connect the handles?
Yes, there are clips in each kit to connect the handles together. The clips are used to connect the narrow handle guides - those visible from the inside of the bodywork.
Do all moving blinds have to work together?
Not necessarily. Each fixed bracket can be positioned independently of each other (some boards open, some closed). All that is needed is not to connect the narrow guides with clips.
Can the brackets for OUS external blinds be shortened?
Yes, the handles for OpenUp System external blinds can be shortened in length if the installation requires it. The shortening concerns the profile of the handle, i.e. the part that you attach the handle to the structure. The shortened section, including the moving arms, can be attached with special system pins to another handle. It is safest to cut the handle with a grinder or metal saw. Shortening allows you to better adapt the blinds to the individual construction.
What kind of opening mechanism do external blinds have
Manual. The blinds are opened/closed by hand. Alternatively, you can purchase a special metal handle in black from our shop, which you can attach to one of the boards or slats.
Are there handles included to open the blinds?
No, the handle must be purchased separately.
Can I order external blinds in a ready-made frame?
Yes. In addition to self-assembly kits, we also offer ready-made frames with infill - made to measure. You receive a complete panel, which you simply attach to the structure of your terrace, pergola or balcony. You will find them in the category: BALCONY AND TERRACE PARTITIONS
What's the difference between a blind kit and a ready-made frame?
The kit contains components for self-assembly of the structure - profiles, handles, mechanisms and laths. The finished frame is a complete panel: the structure is already assembled, with the brackets attached. It remains for you to insert the boards or laths.
What types of blinds are available in ready-made frames?
Depending on the option you choose, you can order: - aluminium frame with movable RAL-painted aluminium slats - wooden frame BSH with movable boards.
From what size can I order a frame?
From 80 to 120 cm wide for wooden blinds and 160 for slats. Frame height from 140 to 280 cm.
