ALUMINIUM FRAME + PAINTED BOARDS

ALUMINIUM FRAME + PAINTED BOARDS

ZabTerrace and balcony side cladding - ALUMINIUM FRAME + PAINTED PLATES

Lateral terrace or balcony enclosure, in which the substructure is made up of an aluminium frame, and the filling is wooden planks painted with varnish.
The solution combines aluminium stability z the natural appearance of wood and allows great freedom in the design of the development.

Depending on your needs, you can choose terrace building z:

  • moveable filling - OpenUp System movable boards,
  • immobile filling - Bevelled planks on Skossy fixings,
  • or combine both options in one implementation.

Aluminium frame - stable construction base

The aluminium frame provides:

  • high resistance to moisture and varying weather conditions,
  • dimensional stability of the structure,
  • can be installed on both terraces and balconies,
  • an aesthetically pleasing finish to modern and classic developments.

The frame can be:

  • powder-coated in any RAL colour,
  • colour-matched to the boards or made in contrast.

Movable infill - wooden planks OpenUp System

In the mobile option we use wooden planks mounted on OpenUp System holders, which allow the angle of the boards to be adjusted.

OpenUp System handles are available in 6 colours:

  • black (RAL 9005),
  • anthracite (RAL 7016),
  • white (RAL 9003),
  • dark brown (RAL 8017),
  • brown (RAL 8016),
  • light brown (RAL 8024).

The maximum width of one mobile unit is 110 cm - Longer sections are realised through subsequent modules.

Non-movable infill - bevelled boards (Skossy)

In the fixed option we use boards mounted at an angle using Skossy system, which:

  • positions each board at the same angle,
  • provides permanent protection from the sun and view,
  • gives the development a structured, architectural character.

Skossa mounts are available in 3 colours:

  • black (RAL 9005),
  • anthracite (RAL 7016),
  • brown (RAL 8016).

In the case of fixed buildings no module width restrictions apply.

Combined movable and immovable body

We often implement mixed buildings, where:

  • part of the wall is adjustable (OpenUp System),
  • and a part is a permanent cover (Skossy).

This solution allows the enclosure to be tailored precisely to the function of the terrace or balcony.

Aluminium frame or timber frame BSH - when which to choose?

Aluminium frame will work best when:

  • the building is exposed to damp and changing conditions,
  • you want durability and minimum maintenance,
  • The development is intended to have a modern or neutral character,
  • you are planning a balcony installation.

Timber frame BSH will be a good choice when:

  • a natural, warm appearance is a priority,
  • the terrace is in a country or Scandinavian style,
  • you accept periodic maintenance of the wood.

In this case, it is worth checking out the service BSH WOOD FRAME + PAINTED BOARD.

Wood or aluminium as infill?

Wooden planks select if:

  • you want a natural look,
  • you want to be able to repaint the development in the future,
  • you accept wood care.

Aluminium laths will be a better choice when:

  • you want maintenance-free durability,
  • you are planning intensive use,
  • the building is exposed to high humidity.

    Questions and answers

Would you like to know how much a terrace enclosure and its installation costs? Call us, write to us and arrange a quote.
Our specialist will advise on the material and construction technique to suit your needs.

Are the walls of the development sliding?

They can be. We offer the installation of a patio enclosure with a sliding door option. See a video on how sliding panels work.

Can the blinds be closed and opened?

Of course. The OpenUpSystem brackets, on which we base the installation, allow you to adjust the tilt of the boards/panels in the blinds.

    Is the building covered?

Can be. We have several types of roofing for terrace buildings: Roman blind, polycarbonate, openwork beams, fixed sloping boards.

Where can I see examples of your projects?

We invite you to our headquartersy. Address: 87 Józefa Poniatowskiego Street, 05-220 Zielonka. You can see the buildings we have made under the tab REALISATIONS.

How much does it cost to build a terrace?

The price depends on the area to be built and the finish of the structure. Would you like a precise quote? Send the dimensions of the planned structure and the elements it is to contain (e.g. canopy, sliding panels, louvre walls) to the address: wycena@otwierane.pl

How long does it take to install a balcony or terrace enclosure?

Depending on the size of the development, the average installation time is one to two working days.

What colours are available for the aluminium frame?

The choice of colours is basically unlimited. We fulfil all orders from RAL palettes.

What lengths of sections can be connected modularly?

For horizontal blinds, we do not recommend a higher combined height than 300 cm.

Can the boards be repainted later?

Yes. Painted boards can be cleaned and refinished.

Can movable wooden planks be mounted vertically?

We do not recommend this solution. Wood is a „living” material and can warp, making it difficult for the mechanism to work.

Won't the rain jam between the boards?

It depends on the solution chosen:

the movable OpenUp System boards allow the angle of inclination to be adjusted, thus reducing rain jamming,

Fixed boards on Skossa mounts are mounted at a constant, repeatable angle that provides predictable cover.

In practice, both solutions work well as side protection.

Does the painted board siding protect against wind and rain?

Yes. The side cladding effectively reduces gusts of wind and protects against sideways rain, improving the comfort of the terrace or balcony.
It is important to remember that this is not an airtight or year-round enclosure - its purpose is to cover and regulate the space, not to fully enclose the terrace.

What happens to the wood after several years of use?

Wood is a natural material and will age over time. It may slightly change in colour or texture, but with proper maintenance it remains durable and aesthetically pleasing.
The aluminium frame remains unchanged, which stabilises the entire structure over the years.

What does the installation look like and how long does it take?

Installation is carried out by an experienced team and usually takes one to several days, depending on the size of the development.
The work is carried out efficiently and without unnecessary interference with the existing terrace or balcony structure.

Can such a development be extended later?

    Yes, the side building can:

    expand with further modules,

    link to other systems,

to be supplemented in future by sliding solutions.

This is a good solution if you plan to invest in stages.
