What are terrace blinds?
Patio blinds are a system of horizontal aluminium or wood slats mounted on brackets that allow you to shield the side walls of a terrace, balcony or pergola. You can open or close them with one hand - regulating light, ventilation and privacy. In our offer you will find kits for self-build or with installation. View our offer terrace blinds
How do patio blinds work and what are they made of?
At the heart of the terrace blind system are brackets made of polypropylene. This is a solution characterised by very high resistance to loads, UV radiation and changeable weather conditions. In terms of durability, it is comparable to metal brackets, while retaining lower weight and full corrosion resistance.
The type of material used for the handles determines the durability of the terrace blinds. Our brackets in the system OpenUp are made of polypropylene reinforced with additives. Their quality is evidenced by the fact that they have been tested in an ageing chamber, which confirms their durability and stability for many years of outdoor use.
Horizontal planks of wood or aluminium laths are inserted into the handles. These form the blinds, which can be adjusted with one hand. A slight movement is all it takes to turn the lamellas and decide how much light, air or moisture they allow through the built-in wall. This is a practical and convenient everyday solution - without complicated mechanisms.

What types of patio blinds are there?
Terrace blinds can be: permanently mounted (i.e. fixed walls with blinds whose angle cannot be changed), movable - this is the most popular solution, allowing the slats to be rotated, as well as folding or sliding, which gives even more flexibility in the arrangement of the space. These variants can be found in our terrace blinds offer.
It is worth knowing that terrace louvres are only a solution for side walls - they are not recommended as roof elements. They do not have the necessary strength tests to guarantee the tightness of the horizontal roof surface or to withstand the weight of snow.
What to choose - a do-it-yourself kit or a service?
If you're a do-it-yourselfer or have a crew to build up your terrace, you can order ready-made patio blind kits - such as OpenUp brackets with compatible wood or aluminium slats. This is a good solution if you want to fit the whole thing into your own terrace or pergola structure.
If you want a comprehensive service, choose the option with installation. Our team will prepare and install the side walls from the terrace blinds, tailored to your space and the chosen colour of the structure. You can count on aesthetically pleasing workmanship and durable materials - we particularly recommend aluminium solutions, which require no maintenance and are weatherproof.

Why choose patio blinds?
They are one of the most practical ways to screen a terrace or balcony. Terrace blinds combine the convenience of everyday use with an elegant appearance, and their design allows them to fit easily into a variety of architectural styles. They can be managed manually, without the need for electrical mechanisms, which reduces malfunctions and running costs.
Not only do you gain protection from the sun and wind, but also a greater sense of privacy - especially for terraces next to housing estates or the street.
