Mlodynin terrace cladding - sliding wooden blinds in aluminium frame

The Mlodynin terrace enclosure is an example of a modern solution that combines functionality with aesthetics. This realisation uses sliding panels with wooden slats, mounted in anthracite powder-coated aluminium frames. The overall design was based on the OpenUp system and was matched to the existing architecture of the house.

A practical solution for year-round use

A system of sliding panels allows the amount of light to be regulated and air to flow freely, while protecting the space from the wind and outside view. The Mlodynin terrace enclosure was designed to allow comfortable use of the terrace regardless of the season. One of the frames acts as a sliding door, making access to the garden easier.

Technical implementation data

The development uses four independent anthracite-coloured aluminium frames:

• 193.7 cm × 203.5 cm
• 247.1 cm × 217 cm
• 242.5 cm × 217 cm
• 197.5 cm × 205.3 cm (frame with sliding door)

The walnut-coloured wooden planks were embedded in the OpenUp handle system, also in anthracite. This creates a visually consistent and durable structure. The system allows the lamellas to be fitted without the need for routing - simply clip them into the brackets.

Consistent aesthetics and robust construction

The combination of the warm colour of the wood with the graphite frame blends well with the façade and brick cladding of the house. The cladding not only protects the terrace, but also emphasises the modern character of the building. Sliding wood blinds provide privacy and convenience for the outdoor space.

The OpenUp system - customised housing

The mechanism used is based on OpenUp brackets for external blinds, which make it possible to create functional covers in wood or aluminium. The system can be adapted to the dimensions of the terrace, the style of the building and the user's preferences. It is a solution that works well for the side walls of pergolas, sheds and modern verandas.
